NYE in London

I realise New Years was nearly a month ago now, but as my first blog post (eeekkkkk!) I thought I'd share with you all what my boyfriend (James) and I got up to.
Like many people I have grown up spending New Years Eve surrounded by friends and family, eating too much food, drinking champagne and generally having a great time. However, this year I took the plunge and decided to do something different and a bit more special, spending New Years Eve with James.
After a lot of umm-ing and ahh-ing, I finally booked a trip to London for James' Christmas present. I also bought tickets to see the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which I knew used to be James' favourite film) and watch the London NYE fireworks in the evening.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a perfect start to New Years Eve and James (thankfully) loved it! I have seen several London shows, but Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has to be one of my favourites and I would recommend it to anyone- you are never too old for a London musical full of Umpa-Lumpa's, dancing squirrels and a load of cheesy-yet-amazing songs.

After waiting a painful and cold 5 hours, the fireworks (although only lasting 10 minutes) were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I even forgot how achy my feet and legs were during the display, which says a lot!
I would strongly advise anyone who has only viewed the NYE Fireworks through a television screen to visit London and experience them in person. Not only was the display incredible (and somehow went in time to the music), the atmosphere was electric and it was such a special way to begin 2015.

Now I just need to start thinking of what to do next New Years Eve to try and better this one...
